Challenges

CECEP sought to expand into Indonesia’s renewable energy sector, particularly in solar and waste-to-energy projects. However, navigating Indonesian regulations and securing government support proved challenging.

Solution

Through strategic government relations and industry expertise, SAG assisted CECEP by:  

  • Identifying investment opportunities in solar farms and waste-to-energy projects.  
  • Facilitating high-level discussions with key ministries (Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs & Investment, Ministry of Energy, and Ministry of Industry).  
  • Providing regulatory guidance on investment frameworks and local compliance.
  • Structuring partnerships with local entities for project execution.

Outcome

  • CECEP received a favorable response from the Indonesian government, easing its market entry.  
  • SAG played a key role in bridging Chinese capital with Indonesian sustainable projects, reinforcing its position in international ESG investments. 
  • The project set the foundation for future large-scale renewable energy developments in Indonesia.
